Pastry Chef

**Job Summary**

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Pastry Chef to join our team at Hill Country Restaurants, Inc. as a key member of our culinary operations.

**Key Responsibilities**

• Prepare a wide variety of baked goods, such as cakes, cookies, pies, and bread, following traditional and modern recipes.
• Create new and exciting desserts to renew our menus and engage the interest of our customers.
• Decorate pastries using different icings, toppings, and presentation techniques to ensure a visually appealing and exciting dining experience.
• Monitor inventory levels for baking ingredients, such as flour, sugar, and other essential supplies, and make appropriate orders within budget.
• Inspect the quality of materials and condition of equipment and devices used for cooking to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Guide and motivate pastry assistants and bakers to work efficiently and effectively.
• Identify staffing needs and assist in recruiting and training personnel to support our culinary operations.
• Maintain a clean and organized cooking station, adhering to health and safety standards and company policies.

**Requirements**

• Proven experience as a Pastry Chef, baker, or relevant role in a similar culinary environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and creativity in developing new recipes and presentation styles.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills to manage a team and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Willingness to continuously update professional knowledge and skills to stay current with industry trends and best practices.
• In-depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation, baking techniques, and nutrition to ensure a safe and healthy dining experience.
• Working knowledge of baking with ingredient limitations, such as gluten-free, sugarless, and other dietary restrictions.
• Ability to follow established recipes and procedures, and to adapt to changing menu items and customer preferences.
