Position Summary:
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is tasked with executing general upkeep and repairs on facility equipment and structural components, alongside managing grounds maintenance which encompasses electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct minor repairs related to building systems, HVAC, plumbing, electrical work, and painting as required.
- Perform cleaning and maintenance of facilities as necessary.
- Regularly inspect communal areas to identify and address issues such as litter, mechanical failures, or needed repairs.
- Implement preventative maintenance strategies.
- Maintain an inventory of repair tools and supplies.
- Conduct inspections of office and warehouse spaces regularly or upon request from the Facilities Manager.
- Diagnose and repair systems while executing preventative maintenance tasks.
- Plan, schedule, and monitor preventative maintenance activities.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, alert relevant personnel, and adhere to safety protocols.
- Address maintenance requests in a professional and timely manner.
- Ensure cleanliness of outdoor areas including parking lots and walkways.
- Oversee waste management on company premises.
- Attend team meetings with the Facilities Manager three times a week.
- Perform maintenance tasks across multiple locations as needed.
- Execute additional maintenance duties as assigned.
- Carry out other related responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
- Possession of a valid State Driver's License.
- Reliable means of transportation.
- High School diploma or GED is mandatory.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity.
- Proficiency in plumbing, drywall installation, and painting.
- Basic electrical knowledge is essential.
- Prior experience in a warehouse setting is advantageous.
- Ability to operate hand tools and power equipment effectively.
- A collaborative mindset is necessary to support various departments.
- Capability to follow detailed instructions accurately.
- Attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills.
- Availability to work weekends and after hours when necessary.
- Experience in operating a range of equipment, including lawn mowers and small hand tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Skill in prioritizing tasks and adhering to established procedures.
