Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Nurse Manager to join our team at Adventist HealthCare. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality clinical services in accordance with established hospital and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assure the delivery of quality department/clinical services in accordance with established hospital and regulatory/accreditation agency standards.
  • Implement daily operations, as defined by the care delivery model, for their unit with just-in-time adjustments to match patient needs with unit resources.
  • Assist the Manager with the overall operations of their assigned department, including development of department goals and objectives, management of personnel, and preparation/monitoring of department budgets.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other members of the healthcare team to ensure the delivery of optimum age-appropriate patient care.
  • Promote cohesive work teams by actively supporting intra- and inter-disciplinary teamwork within the department and organization.
  • Participate in the development of evidence-based standards of care for clinical areas of responsibility and ensure adherence to standards of care defined by professional and regulatory organizations.
  • Report significant events, such as near misses, adverse events, patient/family complaints, and any situation that affects the safe delivery of patient-centered care in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate positive customer service, foster positive employee relations, and ensure that staff adheres to the customer service behavioral standards.
  • Promote a positive and professional image and serve as a role model, coach, mentor, problem solver, and resource for staff and peers.
Requirements
  • Degree in nursing (Associate, Diploma, or Baccalaureate)
  • Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred
  • Two years' work experience preferred in department-specific area
  • One year of supervisory experience preferred
  • Current Maryland State nursing license
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate
  • Certification in department-specific area within the first year of the position
Work Schedule

Biweekly weekends

7am-7pm

(3) 12-hour shifts per week

Rotating holiday
