About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Visualization Engineer to join our team at Netflix. As a key member of our Data Science & Engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing cutting-edge data visualization products that support our content, marketing, and advertising teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop performant data visualization applications using front-end JavaScript (TypeScript encouraged) and a component framework like React or D3.
  • Work closely with product managers and stakeholders to understand user needs and develop creative solutions.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to integrate data from various sources, including API endpoints and relational databases.
  • Partner with R&D teams to bring new metrics, models, and data sources to Netflix.
  • Develop and maintain data storytelling products that are intuitive and easy to use for a wide variety of users.
Requirements
  • Experience with front-end JavaScript (TypeScript encouraged) and a component framework like React or D3.
  • Strong understanding of data visualization principles and ability to make good decisions on how to best represent various types of data.
  • Knowledgeable about trade-offs between different chart types and able to make good decisions on how to best represent various types of data.
  • Experience working with data from a variety of sources, including API endpoints and relational databases.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
