Position Overview:
The Patient Access Coordinator serves as the initial point of contact for patients and the community, ensuring the safety and protection of patient identities. This role involves managing patient registration, verifying demographic information, obtaining insurance details, and accurately updating medical records.

Key Responsibilities:
+ Deliver exceptional customer service and communication with patients, healthcare staff, and the public.
+ Demonstrate problem-solving abilities and resolve issues promptly.
+ Conduct patient registration and basic insurance verification, ensuring accurate billing information.
+ Maintain confidentiality of all patient records and accounts.
+ Ensure smooth patient flow and promptly inform supervisors of any departmental or patient-related concerns.
+ Answer phone calls with a professional greeting and assist callers in a courteous manner.
+ Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Education:
+ High School Diploma or GED required.
+ Associate Degree preferred but not mandatory.

Experience:
+ Previous experience in patient registration or healthcare preferred but not essential.
+ Familiarity with medical terminology is advantageous but not required.

Skills & Abilities:
+ Strong problem-solving skills and basic computer proficiency.
+ Typing speed of 40 WPM with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to engage professionally with staff and patients.
+ Basic math skills.
