Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Packaging Engineer to join our team at Apple. As a key member of our packaging team, you will be responsible for developing innovative packaging solutions for our consumer products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop new optical package special characteristics based on system-level performance, cost, and footprint requirements.
  • Conduct initial package layout and architecture scoping, and sign off on the final package design.
  • Define and develop a MP assembly process, including proof of concept work, novel process and equipment development, FMEA, process control plan, IQC and OQC, failure analysis, yield analysis, and enhancement work.
  • Develop a packaging roadmap based on long-term packaged product requirements, and initiate and manage supplier's pathfinding activities.
Requirements
  • BS with 5+ years of semiconductor packaging/assembly experience.
  • Prior optical packaging experience with LED, photodiode, and optical component integrations and system interactions.
  • M.S or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or similar disciplines.
What We Offer

At Apple, we offer a competitive base pay range of $175,800 to $312,200, depending on skills, qualifications, experience, and location. You'll also receive comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and reimbursement for certain educational expenses. Additionally, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments, as well as relocation assistance.
