Job Summary

University Health is seeking a highly skilled Staff Psychologist to join our team. As a Staff Psychologist, you will be responsible for conducting psychological evaluations and assessments of adult and juvenile defendants, potential law enforcement officers, and applicants for various positions within the Bexar County Juvenile Probation Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations and assessments using various techniques and tools.
  • Provide clinical supervision to practicum students and trainees.
  • Testify in court as an expert witness.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of evaluations and assessments.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to develop and implement treatment plans.

Requirements

  • Doctorate in Psychology or related field from an accredited institution.
  • One year of supervised postdoctoral experience in clinical psychology, forensic psychology, or related field.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of psychological testing and evaluation techniques.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with hostile, abusive, or irrational individuals.
  • Licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists or eligible for licensure within 6 months of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a correctional environment and/or conducting forensic psychological evaluations.
