Veterinary Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team at River Hills Pet Care Hospital. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our veterinarians and technicians in their daily tasks.

• Provide compassionate care to all patients, including cleaning and maintaining equipment, feeding, exercising, and grooming patients.
• Assist veterinarians and technicians with various tasks, such as preparing and sanitizing surgery suites, restraining and handling patients, and performing laboratory tests.
• Communicate effectively with clients and ensure they feel comfortable leaving their pets in our care.
• Maintain accurate medical records and adhere to hospital safety and wellness regulations.
• Participate in continuing education and skill improvement to stay current in the field of veterinary medicine.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Vet Tech (VTNE) Certification preferred.
• One or more years' experience in a veterinary environment, with a strong focus on patient care and support.
• Ability to work with or around sick animals, potentially hazardous materials, and unpleasant odors.
• Flexibility with scheduling and ability to work some weekends and holidays.
