Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Surgical Technologist to join our Maternity team at UMass Memorial Health. As a key member of our surgical team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring a safe and efficient operating room environment.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare the operating room for cases, selecting and checking case carts and preference cards for correct instruments and supplies.
  • Anticipate the needs of surgeons and other team members, requesting special equipment and supplies as needed.
  • Assist operative teams and anticipate the needs of surgeons and/or assistants during cases.
  • Pass and track instruments, sutures, and supplies during procedures, labeling all medication and solutions on the sterile field.
  • Care for specimens to prevent loss or damage, using caution when handling specimens to ensure proper anatomical identification.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of an accredited school of surgical technology and certification as a surgical technologist.
  • Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and AST membership.
  • Thorough knowledge of surgical technology and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
