We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Quivira Medical Pavilion. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient flow of patients through our healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities- Facilitate examination and treatment of patients in a culturally sensitive manner with exceptional customer service.
- Contribute to patient care by preparing patients for visits, performing limited procedures, scheduling diagnostic tests or consults, maintaining patient records, and organizing clinic/exam rooms.
- Assist physicians, nurses, and other medical staff with special procedures and examinations as defined on competency checklists.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team in coordinating and implementing plans for patient care.
- Electronically submit, call, or fax prescriptions and refills to outpatient pharmacies.
- Maintain medical records, ensure all required documentation is available, and distribute reports and correspondence.
- Ensure orderliness and cleanliness of examination rooms, stock assigned areas, and maintain par levels of supplies.
- Perform clerical duties such as greeting patients, registration, scheduling, pre-certification of tests, procedures, and medications, processing insurance forms, and preparing financial records.
- High School Graduate
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or at least one year of experience as a Medical Assistant or CCMA or NCRMA certification
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) within 14 days
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) - National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or NCRMA (preferred)
