Position Overview

The Department of Emergency Medicine at Emory University is actively seeking Faculty members in Emergency Medicine to deliver critical medical services within a hospital emergency department setting. This role encompasses the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients experiencing urgent medical conditions, illnesses, or injuries.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Possession of a Georgia Medical License
  • Completion of an accredited residency program in Emergency Medicine
  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Emergency Medicine
  • Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Hospital privileges at affiliated healthcare facilities
  • Appointment to the Faculty of the Emory University School of Medicine

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver high-quality patient care across one or more affiliated emergency departments.
  2. Engage in medical staff activities, departmental quality assurance, or other services at affiliated hospitals under the guidance of the emergency department director.
  3. Supervise medical students, residents, and other trainees.
  4. Ensure that all emergency medical care provided meets established quality standards, with the attending physician responsible for care during their shift.
  5. Maintain professional competencies and knowledge through ongoing medical education.
