Job Description

The Patient Relations Advisor serves as the primary point of contact for patients and families, addressing concerns and issues promptly and professionally. This role requires strong communication skills, empathy, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Central Resource: Provides information on patients' rights and responsibilities, advance directives, and ethical issues.
  • Interpreter: Serves as an interpreter for Spanish-speaking patients when needed.
  • Grievance Resolution: Coordinates, investigates, and resolves patient grievances concerning quality of care and service.
  • Patient Feedback: Collects, analyzes, and evaluates patient concerns to improve services.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensures adherence to regulatory requirements and standards.
  • Litigation Prevention: Responds to potentially serious incidents to reduce litigation risk.
  • Leadership Role: Provides leadership and consultation to committees and departments affecting patient needs and rights.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • 5 years of customer service or hospital experience.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Candidates should demonstrate analytical thinking, problem-solving, complaint management, conflict negotiation, cultural brokerage, self-motivation, data management, excellent communication and listening skills, and a professional manner.
