Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at MJ Care Inc. as a School-Based Speech Language Pathologist. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing direct and consultative services to children with exceptional educational needs and to educational staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a school-based speech-language pathology program to support children with exceptional educational needs.
  • Conduct evaluations, interpret findings, and prepare written reports to inform IEP development and progress monitoring.
  • Collaborate with IEP teams to develop educationally appropriate speech-language therapy goals and objectives.
  • Provide direct and indirect speech-language pathology services to children in educational environments.
  • Travel to and among schools to provide services to children.
  • Maintain accurate records, including daily documentation, Medicaid billing logs, IEPs, and progress reports.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology from a school accredited by the American Speech Language Hearing Association.
  • Current Department of Public Instruction license in good standing required for Wisconsin positions.
  • Current Illinois State Board of Education license in good standing required for Illinois positions.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence is required for SLPs in a mentor role and is highly recommended when filling school-based assignments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ year of experience in a school-based setting.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and billing software.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Working Conditions

The Speech Language Pathologist will work in a fast-paced educational environment, interacting with students, teachers, and other school staff. The position requires the ability to remain calm in emergency or crisis situations and provide adequate assistance.

The successful candidate will be required to maintain confidentiality of student information and adhere to established federal, state, and local rules, regulations, and laws related to speech-language pathology services in schools.
