Job Description

The PMO Project Manager will oversee project plans, track issues and action items to ensure successful project execution, manage status updates, provide management presentations, and lead status meetings.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management:

  • Manage 4-5 projects as a part of the PMO team.
  • Timely prepare for meetings, capturing and presenting meeting minutes from the previous meeting, action items, and respective ownership log.
  • Utilize waterfall methodology and SDLC experience to manage projects effectively.
  • Oversee project plans, ensuring they are executed in accordance with standards.
  • Manage status updates and provide management presentations for status meetings representing all workstreams.

Budget and Resource Management:

  • Manage project budgets and resource allocations.
  • Monitor financial standing related to budget status against the project plan, including variance analysis and reports.

Risk and Issue Management:

  • Identify and manage significant risks and issues impacting the project.
  • Provide regular reports capturing risks and issues to the Project Sponsor, Portfolio Manager, and LOB PMO.

Reporting and Communication:

  • Communicate project direction and status to the Project Sponsor and Executive Steering groups.
  • Ensure clear and effective communication with cross-functional teams.

Team Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Lead cross-functional teams, including workstream leads, Business Analysts, System Analysts, and Testing teams.
  • Drive instructions to staff and ensure project deliverables and objectives are met.

Qualifications:

  • Must have solid working experience with Microsoft Project Plan (Complete Tool & Process Knowledge is MUST).
  • 8-10 years proven experience in project management, particularly with waterfall methodology and SDLC.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • PMP certification, Agile, and Finance/Banking industry experience is also desired.
