POSITION OVERVIEW/RESPONSIBILITIES
Delivers assistance, information, and support to patients, visitors, staff, and medical professionals within the University Health framework.
Safeguards the lives and property of patients, guests, personnel, and healthcare providers across all facilities managed by University Health.
Deters criminal activity, mitigates disturbances, investigates unlawful acts, and apprehends violators.Accountable for the enforcement of all applicable laws, Health System policies, and regulations to uphold the safety, welfare, and protection of patients, visitors, staff, and assets within the jurisdiction of University Health.
Utilizes independent judgment in various situations. Advocates for the Health System's Guest Relations Policy.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
A high school diploma or equivalent experience is required.
Must fulfill all criteria for certification as a peace officer in the State of Texas and have successfully completed a Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) accredited police academy program.
Basic peace officer certification is necessary, and prior experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Current eligibility for TCOLE licensure is essential.
