Ophthalmic Technician

We are seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to provide clinical support to physicians at our Satellite Office. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in ophthalmic care and excellent communication skills.

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Record patient history, including chief complaint, ocular history, and medical conditions.
  • Perform visual field testing, including Amsler Grid and Humphrey visual field testing.
  • Measure and record intraocular pressure using applanation tonometry.
  • Perform OCTs, IOL Master measurements, and Pentacam measurements.
  • Test color vision, depth perception, and screen for ocular motility disorders.
  • Use a slit lamp to examine the eye surface and perform special testing, such as Bright field Acuity Testing.
  • Perform basic maintenance and repair of clinical equipment.
  • Compile and enter data for clinical studies and participate in other research projects.

Non-Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Review and respond to Epic in-basket messages.
  • Process refill requests and assist with obtaining prior authorizations.
  • Provide support to front desk staff and assist with triage scheduled appointments.
  • Manage and order medications for intravitreal injections.
  • Assist with tracking and processing of form requests.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One year experience as an Ophthalmic Technician.
  • CPR certification required.
