Neurodiagnostic Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Neurodiagnostic Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a Neurodiagnostic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing and maintaining competency in electroencephalograms, portable inpatient EEG's, ambulatory EEG monitoring, and other neurodiagnostic tests.
Key Responsibilities- Performs and maintains competency in electroencephalograms, portable inpatient EEG's, ambulatory EEG monitoring, and other neurodiagnostic tests.
- Prepares patients for exams and performs procedures, including gathering patient history and explaining test procedures.
- Recognizes patient or environmental artifact and documents, eliminates, or takes proper measure to monitor the artifact.
- Devises and standardizes neurodiagnostic tests for clinic use.
- Performs Intraoperative Monitoring with supervision and assists physicians in outpatient department clinics with Nerve Conduction Studies and EMGs as needed.
- Troubleshoots equipment problems and repairs or reports to supervisor immediately.
- Electroencephalographic Technologist registration (R EEG T) issued by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET) needs to be obtained within 1 year.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months.
- Typically requires 2 years of experience in a Neurodiagnostic Tech role.
The Neurodiagnostic Technologist will work in a fast-paced clinical environment and may be exposed to blood and body fluids or other unpleasant fumes or hazards. The ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals is essential.
