Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Neurodiagnostic Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a Neurodiagnostic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing and maintaining competency in electroencephalograms, portable inpatient EEG's, ambulatory EEG monitoring, and other neurodiagnostic tests. You will work closely with our team of healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the development of our neurodiagnostic services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and maintain competency in electroencephalograms, portable inpatient EEG's, ambulatory EEG monitoring, and other neurodiagnostic tests.
  • Prepare patients for exams and perform procedures, gathering comprehensive patient histories and explaining test procedures to patients and family members.
  • Recognize and document patient or environmental artifacts, eliminating or taking proper measures to monitor them.
  • Devises and standardizes neurodiagnostic tests for clinic use.
  • Assists physicians in outpatient department clinics with Nerve Conduction Studies and EMGs as needed.
  • Performs Cerebral Death Evaluation studies and TCD (transcranial ultra sound of the Circle of Willis).
  • Troubleshoots equipment problems and reports to supervisor immediately.

Requirements
  • Electroencephalographic Technologist registration (R EEG T) issued by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET) needs to be obtained within 1 year.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months.
  • High School Graduate.
  • Typically requires 2 years of experience in a Neurodiagnostic Tech role.

Working Conditions
  • Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job.
  • Position requires travel. May be exposed to road and weather hazards.
  • Must sit, stand, walk, twist, and lift throughout the workday.
