MRI Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Ochsner Clinic Foundation. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for operating MRI equipment, preparing patients for procedures, and ensuring the highest level of patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Operate MRI equipment to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes
- Prepare patients for procedures, including explaining the process and ensuring their comfort and safety
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans
- Maintain accurate records and reports, including patient information and imaging results
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest imaging technologies and techniques
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
- 6 months of supervised MRI clinical scanning experience required; clinical MRI experience preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required
- ARRT registered or unlimited state license required; certification in another clinical imaging field with associate's or bachelor's degree in allied health field also acceptable
- Advanced certification in MRI required by an organization recognized by the ACR Registry
- Experience working with patients with diverse backgrounds and needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
This position requires working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissue. The incumbent must be able to work effectively in a team setting and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
