Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Ochsner Health System. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for operating MRI equipment to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes. You will work closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate MRI equipment to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes
  • Assess patients and safely perform routine MRI procedures in accordance with prescribed safety procedures and protocols
  • Verify physician orders and procedures to ensure accuracy
  • Use radiology information systems to facilitate care
  • Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding
  • Independently operate equipment to complete imaging procedures according to protocol
  • Review patient images prior to transmission to ensure images meet diagnostic quality standards
  • Complete timely quality control procedures in accordance with regulatory standards
  • Assist in the facilitation of departmental operations, including inventory, staff schedules, and equipment maintenance
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 6 months of supervised MRI clinical scanning experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • ARRT registered or unlimited state license
  • Advanced certification in MRI required by an organization recognized by the ACR Registry within two years of employment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Clinical MRI experience
  • Advanced certification in MRI required by an organization recognized by the ACR Registry
Working Conditions

The incumbent works in a patient care area, works in an area where patients enter, works directly with patients, and/or works with specimens that could contain communicable diseases. There may be an occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases.
