Job Overview

Utility Worker - Stormwater

Rockdale County, Georgia is seeking a dedicated individual to fill the role of Utility Worker specializing in stormwater management. This position involves engaging in various construction and maintenance activities aimed at supporting the county's stormwater infrastructure. You will work under the guidance of a Foreman and may be required to respond to urgent situations outside of regular working hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize a range of tools, equipment, and machinery for construction and maintenance projects
  • Assist in the operation of heavy machinery and equipment
  • Conduct safety inspections and perform minor repairs on tools and equipment
  • Help establish work zones and manage traffic flow
  • Monitor and maintain tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of one year of experience in manual labor
  • Possession of a valid State of Georgia Driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of vocational training in heavy equipment operation
  • Holding a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

Work Environment

This position primarily involves outdoor work in varying weather conditions, which may include exposure to discomfort and hazards. Candidates must be capable of performing strenuous manual labor and may need to work in confined spaces as required.
