Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team at AVID Hotel Conyers. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on hotel equipment, fixtures, and facilities to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on hotel equipment, fixtures, and facilities
  • Assist in the implementation of policies and procedures under the guidance of the General Manager
  • Establish and maintain professional, efficient, and effective communication channels within the hotel
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including heat, light, power, and cost of facility
  • Maintain equipment operating logbooks and inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies
  • Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team
  • Live and demonstrate the company core values
  • Train and supervise subordinates and assist in training for all employees on safety and emergency procedures
  • Work with minimal supervision
  • Satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding
  • Understand guest service needs and ensure timely response to service requests
  • Respond to or perform duties of a groundskeeper
  • Provide maintenance repairs to guestrooms, public areas, and administrative offices
  • Repair may include plumbing, kitchen, mechanical, laundry, electrical, heating, cooling, ventilation, furnishings, and fixtures, painting, wall cover repairs, light carpentry, door and window repairs
  • Maintain a working log of maintenance requests and follow up on all requests with the appropriate department and guests
  • Maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data
  • Keep work area neat and tidy
  • Uniform and personal appearance are kept clean and professional and are in accordance with the company Grooming Policy
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and Code of Ethics
  • Maintain and distribute system of electricity, water, gas, steam, etc
  • Monitor and coordinate the service performed by outside contractors in accordance with the contract, leases, service agreements, and warranties
  • Conduct continuous inspection on the building and ground to ensure compliance with relevant fire and safety laws
  • Promote a safe working environment
  • Follow OSHA guidelines
  • Maintain the MSDS log
  • Maintain the Rooms Preventative Maintenance Program and consistently keep updated records on file
  • Learn and adhere to all fire and emergency procedures, including procedures for handling of the fire panel, ensuring guest safety, and participate in an evacuation if necessary
  • Practice safe working habits, including bending and lifting appropriately to avoid injury, reporting hazards, appropriate use of cleaning chemicals, and working to minimize tripping and falling hazards
  • Prioritize and organize tasks
  • Be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment
  • Participate in helping the hotel recycle
