Job Summary
Westside Family Healthcare, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing equal access to quality healthcare, regardless of ability to pay. We seek a highly motivated Patient Support Specialist to join our team and help patients navigate the complex healthcare system.

About the Position
This is a full-time role that requires strong communication skills, empathy, and the ability to work independently. You will be responsible for assisting patients with accessing healthcare services, including enrolling in state and federal insurance programs and connecting them with community resources. Your exceptional organizational skills will enable you to effectively manage multiple tasks and prioritize patient needs.

Key Responsibilities
• Assist patients with program application completion, identifying and obtaining required documentation, and serve as a liaison with program administrators to complete the enrollment process
• Develop extensive knowledge of healthcare and social service resources available in the community and provide information on the importance of primary and preventive care during one-on-one interactions and at community outreach events
• Travel to and participate in statewide outreach events as needed, typically 2-4 times per month, to promote healthcare access and connect with patients
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and effective resource utilization

Requirements
To succeed in this role, you must have a high school diploma or GED, six months or more of experience using Microsoft Office software suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), fluency in written and spoken English and Spanish or English and another language spoken by a majority of our patient population, and a valid driver's license with reliable transportation to travel independently between work locations and external outreach events.

Salary
The estimated salary for this position is $50,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Benefits include medical insurance (two plans to choose from), dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance paid by Westside with the option to purchase more, short-term disability paid for by Westside, long term disability paid by the employee, a 401(k) retirement plan with a match, and supplemental insurances. A generous PTO package and flexibility to provide work-life balance are also offered.
