Key Responsibilities:
  • Actively engage as a key member of the management team, contributing to the enhancement of accounting practices.
  • Oversee the training, coaching, and ongoing development of Controllers, including Junior Controllers and Deputy Controllers, within the CART team.
  • Identify and propose improvements to align with best business practices and company standards.
  • Lead the Process Improvement team to formulate new policies and procedures, ensuring their effective implementation and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to maintain an up-to-date company Academy.
  • Facilitate the development and education of accounting teams through comprehensive training programs.
  • Ensure timely issuance of financial reporting packages by team controllers on an annual, quarterly, or monthly basis.
  • Work collaboratively with teams to establish ad hoc financial projects and reporting as required.
  • Oversee the preparation of client budgets and ensure that monthly budget-to-actual reports are delivered to clients.
  • Assist teams with annual insurance renewals, ensuring comprehensive coverage and risk mitigation.
  • Manage the annual financial statement review process to prepare for tax deliverables.
  • Act as a liaison with the tax manager to provide necessary data for the completion of tax returns.
  • Supervise the monthly commission process.
  • Proactively identify issues and concerns, communicating solutions to management.
  • Assist teams in verifying that client estate plans are in place and assets are accurately titled.
  • Support the review and sign-off on company-wide 1099 reporting processes.
  • Help establish financial and operational metrics to measure performance.
  • Participate in client transitions in and out of the company as needed.
  • Assist teams in identifying potential risks to the company.
  • Stay informed on industry standards and developments.
  • Review various staff time entries in BQE and ADP.
  • Develop SMART goals and participate in annual reviews for direct reports.
  • Lead staff-wide training sessions for major CART deliverables, including Annual 1099 Reporting and Shareholder/Payroll.
  • Assist with technology solutions and advancements.
  • Oversee internal operating controls, processes, and practices.
  • Plan and execute operational and financial audits.
  • Ensure all accounting transactions comply with GAAP standards.
