Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Patient Transportation Aide to join our team at Kaiser Permanente in South San Francisco, California. As a Patient Transportation Aide, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of patients between nursing units and the Department of Diagnostic Imaging.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport patients between nursing units and the Department of Diagnostic Imaging, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.
  • Assist technologists and other staff members in preparing patients for examinations and discharging patients.
  • Monitor and provide for the needs of patients waiting for services.
  • Perform miscellaneous ancillary clerical functions, including management of incoming and outgoing mail, assembly and retrieval of x-ray jackets, and determination of authorization for x-ray film distribution.
  • Operate computer systems, including MRMS, to manage patient information and track transportation activities.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including legible handwriting.
  • Ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in patient transportation or a related field.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
