Role Summary:
Vista Outdoor, a leader in outdoor products, is seeking a skilled Logistics Analyst to enhance our logistics operations. This role is integral to the Global Logistics Manager and the Logistics Team, focusing on the transportation processes that support our global business.
The Logistics Analyst will report directly to the Director of Supply Chain and will play a vital role in optimizing our logistics strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the seamless movement of goods, both inbound and outbound, utilizing various transportation methods including ocean, air freight, parcel, less than truckload (LTL), and truckload carriers.
- Assist Customer Service with inquiries, shipment tracking, and managing exceptions.
- Oversee all domestic freight transportation activities.
- Maintain and update shipping guidelines for vendors and carriers, ensuring compliance and implementing corrective measures as needed.
- Collaborate with distribution center management to enhance transportation operational efficiency.
- Engage in scheduled requests for proposals (RFPs) to carriers across all transportation modes.
- Participate in rate negotiations to secure optimal pricing while ensuring high service standards.
- Conduct post-RFP analyses comparing new costs to benchmarks for budgeting purposes.
- Support Customer Service and Distribution by managing processes that minimize customer chargebacks.
- Ensure compliance with regulations regarding the transportation of hazardous materials.
- Utilize the Transportation Management System (TMS) effectively, recommending and implementing process improvements to meet business needs.
- Audit, process, and manage the payment of transportation carrier invoices.
- Contribute to projects by providing transportation analysis, exploring options, and tracking outcomes.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and service enhancement, collaborating with relevant parties to implement changes and monitor results.
- Evaluate and recommend new transportation carriers and methodologies.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Logistics or Supply Chain Management.
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on data analysis.
- Proficient problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Capacity to manage multiple priorities and work autonomously within deadlines.
- Experience with Transportation Management software is advantageous.
- Familiarity with SAP is a plus.
- Hazmat certification is beneficial.
Salary range: $43,000 - $61,300. The final salary will be determined based on experience, location, education, and skills, agreed upon at the time of offer.
