About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Care Specialist to join our team at Thrive Pet Healthcare. As a key member of our veterinary team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Veterinary Care: Collaborate with our veterinarians to ensure high-quality care for our patients, advocate for their needs, and educate clients on their health and well-being.
  • Facilitate Hospital Functions: Assist with hospital operations, including admitting and discharging patients, to maintain a smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Assist with Surgeries and Procedures: Work closely with our medical team to perform surgeries and procedures in accordance with state regulations and guidelines.
  • Communicate with Clients: Provide personalized care and guidance to clients on their pets' health, including medication, treatment options, and Thrive Membership benefits.
  • Maintain Medical Records: Accurately and efficiently maintain comprehensive medical records, utilizing our practice systems to ensure seamless care.
  • Obtain Health History: Gather relevant health information from clients and maintain accurate medical charts.
  • Ensure Patient Safety: Utilize safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and maintain clean, sterile, and organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
  • Support Team Members: Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to fellow team members to foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Previous Veterinary Experience: A minimum of [X] years of experience as a veterinary technician or assistant is required.
  • Licensed Technician: A licensed veterinary technician is preferred but not required.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in IV catheters placement, blood work, IV, IM, and SQ injections, as well as monitoring anesthesia and working with various monitoring equipment.
  • Team Player: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Continuous Learning: A commitment to ongoing education and professional development, with a desire to learn and grow with our organization.
