Turbine Rigger Job Description

At Westinghouse Electric Company, LLC, we are seeking a skilled Turbine Rigger to join our team. As a Turbine Rigger, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of equipment and materials around our site.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Proficiently size up loads, assemble rigging to lift, and move equipment or materials around site during maintenance activities.
  • Meet all applicable requirements to maintain unescorted access and pass initial and annual Radiation Worker Training.
  • Have a minimum of 3 years of experience working in a nuclear machine shop environment.
  • Hold NCCER Certification or equivalent qualification in Nuclear, NCCCO, or EPRI: Fossil.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma
  • Must be qualified rigger and signalman in accordance with applicable plant procedures.
  • Must certify qualifications per plant specific procedure.
  • Perform daily per-use inspection of equipment being used.
  • Participate in pre-job briefings.
  • Use and properly operate basic rigging equipment/tooling.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Three years of experience in either Nuclear or Fossil or both.
  • Ability to tie various knots.
  • Coordinate the movement of hands and feet according to visual signals and directions.
