We are seeking a skilled Deaf Community Support Specialist to provide support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in an educational setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Sign Language Interpretation and excellent communication skills. The successful candidate will be able to facilitate communication between students and staff, provide interpretation services, and support the academic and social integration of students into the school environment.
Responsibilities
* Facilitate communication between Deaf or Hard of Hearing students and their peers, educators, and staff.
* Provide interpreting services in various educational settings, including classrooms, meetings, and extracurricular activities.
* Support the academic and social integration of students into the school environment.
* Collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure a supportive learning experience.
* Adhere to the Code of Ethics for interpreters and maintain confidentiality.
Requirements
* Minimum EIPA score of 3.5.
* Valid certification and licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter in Georgia.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Experience working in an educational setting is preferred.
* Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and families.
