Laboratory Specimen Processor

TridentCare is seeking a highly skilled Specimen Processor to join our team. As a Specimen Processor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our laboratory operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Receive and process specimens, ensuring they are properly labeled and prepared for testing.
- Verify the accuracy of specimen information and ensure it is entered correctly into our computer system.
- Prepare specimens for shipping to reference labs and ensure they are handled and stored properly.
- Discard specimens that are past their expiration date or are no longer usable.
- Perform centrifugation and other laboratory procedures as needed.
- Enter client and specimen data into our computer system and ensure accuracy.
- Review patient requisition logs and make corrections as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service and respond to client inquiries regarding specimen requirements and turnaround times.
- Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies, including HIPAA and the Corporate Integrity Agreement.
- Participate in required training programs and adhere to all safety protocols.
- Cooperate with monitoring and audit functions and investigations.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior laboratory experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Data entry and computer skills required.
