Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician I to join our team at UNC Health Care. As a Pharmacy Technician I, you will play a critical role in supporting our pharmacists in reviewing, compounding, and dispensing medications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compounds and prepares medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
  • Delivers medications to patient areas and returns unused medications to the pharmacy.
  • Documents pharmaceutical activities, including patient billing and quality control requirements.
  • Responds to customer requests for assistance with pharmacy services.
  • Operates and supports automated dispensing technology.
  • Orders, receives, and restocks inventory, and completes expiration date management.
  • Contributes to process improvement projects.
  • Completes regulatory compliance inspections of medication storage areas.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Active pharmacy technician registration with the NC Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.
  • Pharmacy technician certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board or National Healthcareer Association within 24 months of hire.
  • Prior pharmacy technician experience is preferred.
