Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Nursing Apprentice to join our Labor and Delivery team at Denver Health. As a Nursing Apprentice, you will have the opportunity to enhance your clinical skills in a hospital environment while still enrolled in an ADN or BSN program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.
  • Assist patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, and eating.
  • Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
  • Assist with keeping unit(s) and patient rooms stocked, clean, and orderly.
  • Develop specific clinical nurse skills through observation of experts and supervised, hands-on experience.
  • Document patient information in accordance with clinical guidelines.
  • Collaborate with interprofessional teams to incorporate Lean principles for quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • Post High School Diploma or Certificate Program Required
  • Less than 1 year of experience as a Nursing Apprentice or in a related field
  • Must have successfully completed Med/Surg 1 at time of application with the ability to provide transcript with grade
  • BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association Required
