The Environmental Service Director will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance of all facilities, ensuring safe and sanitary operations in compliance with safety codes and regulations. This role will direct maintenance staff and perform preventative, routine, and emergency maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and supervise maintenance staff to ensure efficient and effective operations
  • Perform or monitor work on light plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tasks
  • Respond to emergency repair requests and ensure timely completion of tasks
  • Ensure compliance with safety codes and regulations, including OSHA standards
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for larger maintenance jobs
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and prioritize tasks
  • Monitor and maintain maintenance vehicles and equipment
  • Record and report medical and safety issues
  • Implement universal precautions for personal care, first aid, and communicable diseases
  • Document maintenance requests and coordinate with staff
  • Ensure all facilities are maintained in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational degree preferred
  • Three years of experience in property maintenance, with one year of supervisory experience
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing, and perform work-related mathematics
  • Knowledge of painting, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and auto mechanics
  • Familiarity with repair procedures for walls, flooring, windows, and doors
  • Flexible schedule and ability to work varied hours
