Key Responsibilities of the Animal Care Technician:

  • Ensure cleanliness throughout the facility, including animal housing areas, treatment rooms, and outdoor spaces.
  • Provide nourishment to hospitalized animals and boarders.
  • Observe and document vital information regarding the animals' health, behavior, and habits.
  • Exercise animals regularly, ensuring they receive adequate physical activity.
  • Alert veterinary staff to any unusual medical or behavioral issues.
  • Maintain cleanliness in treatment, examination, surgical, and laboratory areas on a daily basis.
  • Manage laundry tasks throughout the day and keep the laundry area organized.
  • Assist veterinary professionals with animal handling and treatment procedures.
  • Oversee inventory management for supplies such as food, cleaning agents, and laundry materials.
  • Perform additional tasks as needed to support the smooth operation of the clinic and enhance client service.
  • Availability for weekend shifts is required.
  • A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Flexibility in scheduling, including some weekend and holiday shifts.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to handle stressful situations are essential.
  • Physical and mental capability to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
  • Ability to lift over 50 lbs.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous.
