Job Summary

Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our team at Women's Internal Medicine. This is a full-time position that offers a competitive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for visits by using appropriate rooming standards tools.
  • Administer injections, as prescribed by providers, and provide gross observations for interpretation.
  • Prepare and administer medications as directed by providers, adhering to federal and state regulations.
  • Assist providers with various procedures, minor surgeries, and exams as designated.
  • Perform Point of Care Testing, including hearing, flu, urine, and strep tests.
  • Remove sutures and change dressings as necessary.
  • Provide clinical advice via phone or electronic correspondence, consulting providers or licensed nurses when necessary.
  • Authorize prescription refills as directed by providers.
  • Assist with test tracking and monitoring overdue results.
  • Ensure exam rooms are adequately supplied and cleaned after each patient visit.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient experience and quality of care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and colleagues, maintaining a positive influence and customer service focus.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited institution (AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, or NAHTR) is mandatory.
  • CPR Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required within 30 days of hire.
  • Valid driver's license is required for regional positions.
  • A healthcare provider in good standing with Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal and state health insurance programs is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One to two years of Medical Assistant experience in a primary or specialty care physician's office.
Work Environment

This role may require occasional regional travel to support operational needs. The incumbent must be able to perform all job functions safely.
