Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled MR Research Technologist to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a key member of our research team, you will play a critical role in the success of our projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist researchers in the operation of MRI scanners and perform basic equipment maintenance.
  • Coordinate service calls for advanced maintenance and organize materials and consumables.
  • Independently operate MRI scanners, monitor image quality, and maintain protocols for equipment use.
  • Develop and implement training sequences for new researchers, including scan procedures and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with researchers to optimize scan protocols and troubleshoot technical issues.

Requirements

  • BA or MA degree in a relevant field (e.g., biomedical engineering, radiology, physics, neuroscience).
  • Experience operating MRI scanners and scanning human research participants.
  • Strong technical skills and proficiency in image acquisition techniques.
  • Experience in the management of computer systems and data transfer.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Pulse Sequence Programming on the Siemens Platform (IDEA) and C++.
  • Experience in image reconstruction.
  • Experience with data transfer to high-performance computing systems and server management.
