Job Summary

Thorpe Specialty Services and its affiliates are seeking a skilled Industrial Carpentry Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for executing the construction and installation of industrial structures, including framing, formwork, scaffolding, and other carpentry tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and project specifications to understand the scope and requirements of industrial carpentry projects.
  • Construction and Installation: Execute the construction and installation of industrial structures, ensuring high-quality standards and compliance with project specifications and codes.
  • Material Selection and Handling: Select appropriate materials based on project specifications, ensuring efficient use and proper handling of wood, metal, and other construction materials.
  • Precise Measurements: Take accurate measurements and ensure precise cuts to meet project specifications and maintain high-quality standards.
  • Equipment Operation: Maintain valid certifications or licenses needed to operate equipment, ensuring safe and effective use.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to and enforce safety regulations and protocols to create a secure working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other construction professionals, including project managers, engineers, and fellow carpenters, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve challenges or obstacles encountered during the construction process, adapting to changing project requirements.
  • Quality Control: Conduct inspections to ensure that work meets high-quality standards and complies with project specifications and codes.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and any changes made during the construction process.
Requirements
  • Basic Skills: Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Tool Proficiency: Basic use of hand tools (hammer, wrench, and tape measure) and experience with powered tools such as drills and saws.
  • Physical Demands: Clarity of vision at varying distances, standing and walking for extended periods, dexterity of hands and fingers, reaching overhead, above the shoulders, and horizontally, occasional bending, kneeling, or crouching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and climbing ladders and working from heights as necessary.
