Key Responsibilities:
As a Shipping & Receiving Associate, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Overseeing all shipping and receiving operations, including the picking, packing, and loading/unloading of shipments.
2. Maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring all transactions are documented properly.
3. Inspecting shipments to confirm quantity and quality, addressing any discrepancies or damages as necessary.
4. Collaborating with suppliers, carriers, and customers to resolve any logistical issues.
5. Adhering to safety and regulatory standards in all shipping and receiving activities.
6. Safely operating material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
7. Engaging in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize shipping and receiving processes.
Qualifications:
To qualify for the Shipping & Receiving Associate position, candidates should possess:
1. At least 5 years of experience in shipping and receiving, ideally within the manufacturing sector.
2. Proficiency in shipping software and related computer applications.
3. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a focus on prioritizing tasks in a dynamic environment.
4. Keen attention to detail, with the capability to promptly identify and resolve issues.
5. Comprehensive knowledge of shipping and receiving protocols and regulations.
6. Competence in safely operating material handling equipment.
7. Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with team members, suppliers, carriers, and customers.
8. Physical endurance and the ability to lift heavy items.
9. A high school diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications in logistics or a related field are advantageous.
