Position Overview
The team members of the Special Education Services Department at Nevada County Superintendent of Schools are deeply dedicated to delivering a meaningful and tailored educational experience for each student in our care. Through ongoing reflection, we strive to support the development of lifelong skills, enabling each child to grow academically, socially, emotionally, and as responsible citizens within their classrooms and communities. We firmly believe that continuous, transparent, and adaptable family involvement is essential to enhancing the lives of our students and their dedicated families.
Our department is composed of highly skilled, passionate, collaborative, and engaging educators committed to achieving positive student outcomes. As we work together to implement each student's individualized learning plan, we do so in a play-based and/or naturalistic manner, allowing every child and staff member the autonomy to express themselves authentically.
The Special Education Secretary collaborates closely with our department Principal to ensure that our systems operate smoothly and efficiently, allowing our educators to concentrate their efforts on providing high-quality services to the students we serve. Our Secretary and Principal maintain a collaborative, respectful, and enjoyable working relationship to meet the department's diverse objectives. Additionally, our Secretary engages with leading experts in essential Special Education practices and enjoys being part of a child-centered learning environment.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
Any combination of training and experience that would likely provide the necessary knowledge and abilities. A typical way to acquire the knowledge and abilities would be:
• Two (2) years of relevant work experience in administrative support, office, or secretarial roles.
• Typing certificate demonstrating a speed of 40 words per minute (certificates from online typing test agencies are not acceptable).
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint is desirable.
