Senior Cytotechnologist

Medical Diagnostic Laboratories, a member of Genesis Global Group, is a CLIA certified clinical laboratory with multiple state licensing, specializing in state-of-the-art, automated DNA-based molecular analysis of various chronic and infectious illnesses.

Our main theme of research is in the field of Gynecology, Infectious Diseases, Infectious Arthritis, Tick-borne Diseases, Mycology, and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS).

We are seeking a Senior Cytotechnologist to perform specialized and complex testing that involves microscopic screening and evaluation of gynecological and non-gynecological specimens; provide interpretations to the Supervisory cytotechnologist and pathologists.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Perform thorough and accurate microscopic evaluation of cellular samples using recognized criteria to make cytological interpretations.
* Correlate findings with supervisory cytotechnologist and pathologists.
* Accurately record all appropriate specimen and results data.
* Perform fine-needle aspirations to prepare biopsies and assess cellular adequacy.
* Ensure individual specimen turnaround times are consistent with overall laboratory expectations.
* Ensure cytological activities and equipment are used and maintained safely and in accordance with laboratory procedures.
* Use established laboratory techniques in the preparation of quality slides from cytological samples.

* Ensure activities are conducted in a safe manner and materials are handled according to safety guidelines.
* Ensure customer privacy is maintained at all times.
* Participate as a team member and be accountable for own work responsibilities.
* Ensure information is delivered in a manner that is supportive, timely, and understandable.
* Demonstrate initiative to proactively diagnose and resolve problems.
* Display productive work habits consistently.
* Maintain accuracy and quality for all activities.

**Qualifications:**

* ASCP Board Certification
* Experience with Thin-Prep Imaging System; Review Scope a plus

**Work Environment:**

* Laboratory setting
* Use of personal protective equipment may be necessary
* May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids

**Education and Certifications:**

* Bachelor's degree in related science
* Minimum of 5 years related experience
