About the Job

">

The Advanced Quality Planning Engineer will work closely with the cross-functional Product Development Team members (Product Design Engineers, Manufacturing Integration Engineers, Process Engineers, and other internal stakeholders) to facilitate the use of AQP tools for managing and mitigating project risk to ensure a flawless product launch that meets customer quality, delivery, and cost requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • ">
  • Evaluate project quality plans for new products and modifications to ensure focus on customer voice and timely completion of project quality deliverables.">
  • Perform duties as assigned by management, including continuous improvement projects to reduce scrap, improve throughput, and enhance methods and systems.">
  • Lead problem-solving efforts using the 8D methodology to analyze and resolve customer complaints or internal quality issues during launch, and support systemic improvements to reduce New Products QNs.">
  • Review and approve supplier documentation on new and modified purchased components, ensuring compliance with procurement and supplier quality engineer guidance.">
  • Ensure completion of customer required documentation for new product acceptance and shipping judgement, and conduct dispositions as needed.">
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing AQP or QE to conduct Safe Launch exercises, perform process audits to qualify new production processes, and ensure compliance with documented control plans for new products.">
  • Facilitate development of measurement plans and lead tool/process qualification efforts, owning necessary gauges and inspection fixtures.">
  • Conduct front-end product/tool/assembly design facilitation, process flow reviews, and design/FMEA activities while providing input on internal and external quality history, lessons learned, and critical thinking.">
  • Review reliability test plans.">

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • ">
  • A BS degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.">
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in Quality Engineering or a related field.">
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of metrology and GD&T.">
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using Minitab or similar software.">
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).">
  • Training in DOE, AQP tools like DFMEA, Lean/Six Sigma, Control Plan, and Reliability Test Plans.">
  • Experience in Quality Engineering in a new-product introduction environment.">
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing, testing, molding, and assembly processes.">
  • Quality System (ISO 9001 or TS/IATF 16949) and Supplier Auditing experience, Gage and Fixture design.">
  • Experience in the automotive industry.">
