Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Manager to join our team at Perdue Farms. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the receipt, drying, storage, and distribution of grains at our facility in Salisbury, MD.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct the activities of facility associates to ensure efficient and safe grain handling operations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as agribusiness requirements, to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Coordinate with grain merchandising to provide excellent customer service and ensure timely and efficient movement of grain.
  • Identify opportunities to improve facility operating effectiveness and reduce operating costs, including the development of capital plans and execution of individual projects.
  • Provide job-specific training and safety training to associates to ensure they understand and are fully engaged in production, safety, and environmental processes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Logistics, Business, or related discipline preferred.
  • 1-3 years of previous supervisory experience.
  • Basic knowledge of software applications.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, local, and OSHA regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous grain handling experience.
  • Knowledge of grain receiving and storage technologies.
  • Understanding of commodity markets.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Able to move freely throughout the facility, including climbing vertical heights, carrying tools and equipment (0-50 lbs.), exposure to temperatures (0-100°F), humidity (0-100%), noise (50db to 100db), and chemicals (MSDS sheets available). Must be able to wear protective equipment, including self-contained breathing apparatus. Required to travel to remote facilities and customer locations.
