Job Description

At Northwestern Memorial Healthcare, we are committed to delivering exceptional patient care and satisfaction. To achieve this goal, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Desktop Support Specialist to join our Information Services team.

The successful candidate will possess a strong foundation in desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and associated operating systems. They will also have a basic understanding of networking, printing, and telephony support. As a Desktop Support Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining all Northwestern Memorial Healthcare endpoint hardware and core software, including computing devices, pagers, printers, and telephony hardware.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain knowledge of operating systems, telephony, and telephony hardware.
  • Provide desktop hardware and software problem identification and resolution for all endpoint hardware and related equipment.
  • Complete hardware moves and equipment replacements for all endpoint hardware and related equipment.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions to the Information Services architecture teams on topics related to supported hardware and software standards.
  • Assist and ensure compliance with endpoint hardware and software standards as determined by the Information Services department.

Customer Service Skills:

  • Respond thoroughly and promptly to customer needs.
  • Develop and own customer relationships and follows issues through to closure.
  • Apply problem-solving concepts and takes ownership to solve end-user problems.

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of experience in core discipline.
  • Basic support knowledge of desktops, laptops, and mobile devices and associated operating systems, MS Office products, printers, desk phones, and associated telephony, and networking.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree.
  • IT-related certification.
  • 2nd shift or weekend support.
