About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Direct Pressure Group at MKS Instruments. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and testing advanced vacuum sensing technologies used primarily for the semiconductor market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of new pressure sensors from concept to validation and qualification
  • Create and review precision mechanical designs, including engineering drawings, dimensional analyses, and tolerance studies
  • Perform structural, thermal, and multi-physics modeling of designs, validating models through experimentation
  • Help develop test plans and execute laboratory experiments to evaluate performance of new products
  • Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering and Operations teams to develop and incorporate DFM best practices
  • Perform data analysis of various sensor and transducer performance metrics

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar scientific degree; advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of 4 years of mechanical engineering design experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with high precision products and complex manufacturing processes; knowledge in vacuum and pressure measurements is ideal
  • Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD (SolidWorks) and preferred experience with Finite Element Analysis (SolidWorks Simulation, COMSOL, etc.) software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
