Position Summary

We are in search of a dedicated and experienced Operations and Fleet Manager to lead and enhance our fleet operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and adherence to all regulatory standards. This pivotal role involves managing our fleet, optimizing asset utilization, and upholding superior vehicle performance and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Management of Maintenance Personnel: Supervise the daily functions of company mechanics, ensuring prompt and effective vehicle maintenance and repairs.
  • Asset Optimization and Route Management: Maximize the utilization of fleet assets and devise efficient routes to guarantee timely deliveries and services, while minimizing downtime and fuel expenses.
  • Vehicle Maintenance and Inspection: Conduct regular inspections of vehicles to confirm they are in optimal working condition and schedule preventive maintenance to avert breakdowns.
  • Real-time Fleet Monitoring: Employ GPS and other tracking technologies to oversee vehicle locations in real-time, ensuring effective route management and prompt responses to any issues.
  • Performance Tracking and Improvement: Monitor and analyze vehicle performance metrics, maintain detailed records, and implement strategies for ongoing enhancement.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all fleet operations align with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and other pertinent laws and standards.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational abilities with a capacity to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently.
  • Fleet Management Experience: Demonstrated experience in fleet management, ideally within the construction or related sectors.
  • Budget Oversight: Proficient in managing a fleet budget ranging from $50,000 to $100,000 monthly, ensuring cost-effective operations without compromising quality and safety.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in fleet management or operations management.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with fleet management software and GPS tracking systems.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of DOT regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with team members, vendors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving capabilities with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving operational challenges.
