Job Summary:

To work directly with dietary staff in providing dietary services to Birch members, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in planning, developing, and preparing menus according to specific diet requirements. This role requires the ability to maintain sanitary kitchen, appliances, and equipment, as well as follow prescribed diets and order food accordingly. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, be honest, dependable, self-motivated, and dedicated to Birch Tree Values and Mission. Key responsibilities include completing necessary ServSafe training, assisting in inventory and storing food/supplies according to procedures, and providing scheduled meal planning groups during day treatment to encourage member input and cooking groups to improve cooking skills as assigned. Regular and punctual attendance is required, as well as open communication with Dietary Supervisor. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is essential for this role.

Responsibilities:

Assist in planning, developing, and preparing menus according to specific diet requirements.

Maintain sanitary kitchen, appliances, and equipment.

Follow prescribed diets and order food accordingly.

Inventory and store food/supplies according to procedures.

Provide scheduled meal planning groups during day treatment to encourage member input and cooking groups to improve cooking skills as assigned.

Regular and punctual attendance is required.

Open communication with Dietary Supervisor.

Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED.

Honest, dependable, self-motivated, and dedicated to Birch Tree Values and Mission.

Ability to perform essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily.

Working Conditions:

This role is a full-time position in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The successful candidate will be required to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
