Compensation: $32.55/hr on W2
Job Overview:
- Experience in telecommunications is essential.
- Conducts field engineering assessments for proposed projects, ensuring that alternative routing provides the most economical design for construction.
- Constructs, maintains, and inspects Hybrid Fiber Coax (HFC) networks to deliver voice, video, and data services to both residential and commercial clients.
- Oversees all customer implementation processes, including site evaluations, node placements, and coordination of subcontracted labor.
- Manages contractor activities, secures necessary permits, access, or right-of-way agreements as needed, and distributes design documents and other essential working materials. Negotiates and approves modifications to design or construction plans.
- Researches and reviews project plans, gathers necessary data, and lists material requirements.
- Collaborates with public works personnel, secures permits, processes pole applications, and coordinates with developers, commercial clients, building owners, and utility companies on joint trench projects.
- Maintains workflow databases and updates project schedules accordingly.
- Participates in managing and estimating cost forecasts, material planning, and budget allocations for both capital and operational expenses.
- Calculates construction costs, prepares financial plans, and monitors expenditures.
- Assesses serviceability, surveys proposed service routes, and estimates material, labor, and construction costs.
- Initiates customer communications, coordinates access or right-of-way agreements, completes route designs, and takes necessary actions to fulfill customer requirements.
- May order materials or collaborate with administrative staff; may verify and reconcile invoices. May also plan and allocate fibers for splicing and activation.
- May inspect construction work or coordinate inspection tasks.
- Confirms serviceability of addresses and informs other departments accordingly.
- Upon project completion, performs necessary tasks to close entries in databases/tools, reconciles assets, and generates reports to ensure proper project closure.
