The Physical Therapist is accountable for evaluating, planning, organizing, and executing rehabilitation programs aimed at enhancing patient mobility, alleviating discomfort, boosting strength, and rectifying disabling conditions stemming from illnesses or injuries. Establishes trust and collaboration with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals through proficient patient evaluation, diligent monitoring, and effective communication. Complies with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering superior patient care. Provides clinical oversight to assistants and aides, and acts as a clinical mentor for designated students.Job Responsibilities:
- Designs, prepares, and implements tailored physical therapy programs to sustain, enhance, or restore physical capabilities, relieve pain, or avert physical dysfunction in patients.
- Conducts and documents patient assessments and tests in accordance with established standards and regulatory guidelines.
- Utilizes evaluation data to identify issues and diagnoses, subsequently developing and updating the patient's Plan of Care (POC).
- Evaluates and administers treatment for patients as per the established plan of care, adhering to recognized standards.
- Completes all necessary documentation related to charge capture in line with established protocols.
- Facilitates effective and efficient coordination of patient care with other healthcare providers and support team members.
- Meets departmental and organizational requirements and responsibilities.
- Works flexible shifts, including varying days of the week and hours.
- Offers clinical supervision to assistants and/or aides.
- Serves as a clinical instructor for assigned students.
EDUCATION:
- Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program.
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:
- PT - Physical Therapist.
- Consideration will also be given to approved license applicants or residents in training programs.
- BLS - Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification.
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of 2 years of recent relevant experience.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Strong critical thinking and complex problem-solving abilities, with decisive judgment and capacity to work independently.
- Comprehensive knowledge and application of professional practice and regulatory standards.
- Ability to thrive in a demanding work environment, managing multiple priorities while meeting deadlines and requirements.
- Proficiency in computer and required technology.
- Exhibits effective professional communication skills (both verbal and written), along with strong interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, teamwork, collaboration, customer service, and community relations capabilities.
- Able to assimilate and apply new knowledge and skills effectively.
- Stays updated on advancements in professional practice.
