Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical/Trauma Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team at VHC Health. This is an exciting opportunity for a compassionate and patient-centered nurse to provide exceptional care to patients in our 22-bed Trauma-Surgical Intermediate Care Unit (3B).

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to patients with complex medical conditions, including trauma/surgical patients who require mechanical ventilation, chest tube management, and cardiac drips. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to promote positive patient outcomes and a supportive working environment.

Responsibilities:

  • To provide direct and indirect total nursing care to assigned patients, ensuring their physical, emotional, and psychological needs are met.
  • To supervise and delegate tasks to assigned personnel, promoting a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
  • To interpret hospital and departmental policies, procedures, and protocols relevant to the delivery of nursing care.
  • To communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams using strong interpersonal and written communication skills.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Nursing (Bachelor's or Master's)
  • At least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Virginia Department of Health Professions or Compact State Licensure
  • BLS certification

Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,000 per annum, depending on experience.
