Developmental Disability Support Technician

Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 12 states. We are seeking a Full-Time Registered Behavior Technician to help effectively support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a home and community-based setting.
Key Responsibilities- Provide onsite services to participants with intellectual and developmental disabilities through evidence-based and data-driven methodologies that include trauma-informed care and positive behavior supports.
- Model and implement behavioral support strategies specified in the Behavior Plan to assist participants in acquiring, retaining, improving, and generalizing behavioral, self-help, socialization, and adaptive skills.
- Provide timely and structured written feedback to clinicians on the provision and effectiveness of the Behavior Plan and strategies.
- Participate in onsite meetings or instructional sessions with participants' support networks regarding recommendations, strategies, and next steps identified in the Behavior Plan.
- Collect data on progress and work collaboratively to ensure effective behavior reduction, skill acquisition, and skill generalization.
- Prepare progress reports for participants' teams as needed.
- Provide a safe and supportive environment.
- Employees must cooperate with the licensee and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation.
- Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Successfully complete a 40-hour behavioral technician training.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Knowledge of Positive Behavior Supports.
- Ability to implement Behavior Plans independently and confidently.
- Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with participants receiving supports.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situations.
- Ability to collect, interpret, and graph data.
- Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to work some evenings and weekends.
- Frequent lifting, stretching, and other physical exertion may be required.
- Required to utilize personal vehicle.
- May be required to lift or move 25+ pounds.
- May be exposed to various medical conditions and communicable diseases.
